Nestled in the foothills of the mountains, whilst a stone's throw away from the Atlantic ocean, Tamraght is a peaceful Berber village, full of charm and beauty. The locals are welcoming and it's chilled out vibe keeps surfers and travellers alike returning. Based in Tamraght, our surf camp has everything for the travelling surfer! Here are some reasons why we love it here - in no particular order... 1. Surf on our doorstep With a choice of local breaks within walking distance, it's the perfect spot to call 'home' during your surf trip. Our Surf Riad is based in the hub of the village, and just across from the beach. Crocodile beach, K17, and Devil's Rock are great spots for beginner and intermediate surfers, with sandy bottoms and clean, cruisey waves. Just past Devil's Rock is Banana Beach - a popular sunset-watching spot with the locals and a regular footed surfer's dream, with long, peeling right-handers. 2. The local Souk in Aourir Aourir is the neighbouring village of Tamraght, famous for its banana trees, and where the hustle and bustle of the souk happens every Wednesday. Less touristy than Agadir Souk, it's a great opportunity to mix with the locals, practice your Arabic and sample some of the tastiest treats in town! Here we stock up on all our fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables that will keep you fuelled for your surfing and yoga sessions every day of your holiday! 3. Nature Surrounded by mountains and on the ocean's doorstep, there's no better place to switch off from the daily 9-5 and re-connect! 4. The local vibe With a more chilled atmosphere than it's neighbouring village of Taghazout, Tamraght is a peaceful spot for travellers. You'll get to know the local people of Tamraght quickly, with their big smiles and warm welcome! 5. Sunset views One of the many things we love about Morocco is it's sunsets - each one is different, but all of them beautiful, and guaranteed to blow you away, lighting up the sky with colours you'd never imagined! Tamraght has some great spots to catch the best views of the sunrise and sunset - the mountain top, the beach and even from the rooftop of the beautiful Surf Riad! 6. Beautiful mountain walks Surrounded by mountains, Tamraght has lots of great trails for hiking. Head to the top of the mountain and you won't be dissapointed! With views from Banana village, all the way to Taghazout, and never ending views of the beautiful, blue ocean, its a great spot to catch the sunrise and sunset. 7. Beauty on every corner Tamraght is a great village to wander around, with lots of flowers, ocean viewpoints and beautiful Moroccan doors! 8. Moroccan Tea - with a view! Devil's rock is one of our favourite surfing beaches, and a popular hang-out spot where you can mix with the locals, watch the surf and enjoy a fresh mint tea! 9. Daily Life Tamraght is a local Berber village, so you'll get to experience real Moroccan culture and daily life here. Wander the streets and you'll see kids on their way to school, people on their way to the mosque for evening prayer and you'll smell some amazing dishes being prepared behind the doors of Moroccan homes!. 10. Camels Camels are pretty amazing creatures, and you'll see them all around Tamraght - both on the beach and wandering the hills around the village!
