Hands behind head in a lunge

Hands behind head in a lunge

This pose opens the chest, stretches the legs, and releases tension in the hips. Engage your core and push through your feet to stabilise your body. Great for post-surf flexibility and hip opening.
Child's pose yoga pose

Child's pose with hands in prayer

Adding a prayer position to child’s pose creates space in the hips and chest, relieving tension. This is a calming stretch to balance your body after a long surf session.
Side stretch yoga pose

Side body stretch

Perfect for opening your shoulders and side body. This stretch releases tight muscles and provides relief for those surfing muscles.
Yoga pose with belt

Over bolster with belt

Sit with the base of your spin as close to the bolster cushion as you can, secure the belt, put it over your body, loop it around your feet and lie back with your arms open. Use blocks to support your knees to control the hip stretch.

Great for a deeper hip stretch. This restorative pose relaxes your lower body, especially after an intense surf workout.

Make sure the belt attachment is away from your feet and adjusted to suit your body. 
Salabhasana yoga pose

Salabhasana

Salabhasana opens up the chest and is great for strengthening the back. You can also lift your legs to intensify the stretch and benefit your lower back, important for surfers.
