A little introduction to RamadanIn Morocco, Islam is the main religion and every year, Muslims all over Morocco mark the start of Ramadan, Islam’s holiest month. Ramadan is a month of fasting from dawn until dusk, evening feasts and a time for Muslims to share with and help others. Muslims fast in Ramadan to feel closer to God, whilst acknowledging the suffering of those less fortunate than themselves. Throughout the month, followers of Islam fast during the hours of daylight, focusing more on prayer and spirituality.
Hundreds of animals call Tamraght and Taghazout home. Whether they're hanging-low on the beach enjoying the sunshine or keeping it real in town, these animals are as much part of the local community as the surf schools.
Whilst you should always be cautious with stray animals, Tamraght and Taghazout do have a particularly lovely breed of street dog skulking about and these are just SOME of our favourites. 8 Girls, 5 nationalities and an awesome lust for adventure - what an amazing week we had on our second Girls' Retreat!
Read on to see more of our retreat adventures... As a part of your time spent with us at Azrac Surf, we’ll let you in on a local secret… Paradise Valley. A haven away from the choppy coast of Tamraght, Paradise Valley is a 40 minute drive up winding roads into the foothills of the Atlas mountains, offering visitors beautiful sceneries and tranquil, still pools of aqua blue water and cascading waterfalls.
